Boston door prize

December 4th, 2007 · No Comments

One of the toughest jobs going is riding on the mean streets as a bicycle courier. Yes everyone has a story about some rude courier who gave them the finger. But most couriers have a tough time out on the street trying to make some cash.

One of my university bound friends introduced me to someone who is a courier in Boston who recently entered the old door prize contest. Whats that you ask? Well those couriers face one thing almost everyday. People opening car doors without looking. Its called the door prize.

So my friends was riding along in traffic when wham out comes the door. Obviously the first thing the driver says is sorry but once they realized that my courier friend was actually hurt badly they started singing a different tune. For some reason it was now my couriers friends fault that the door flew open and he crashed and broke his collarbone. Wow. Time to find some nice and friendly boston personal injury lawyers to help you out. The legal system exists for situations like this one.

It was so obvious that the driver was trying to shift the blame to my courier friend so they would not have to pay anything. The problem for anyone and even worse for someone who has to ride their bike to pay the bills is that a broken collarbone is going to really put a dent in the old paycheck. How about no paycheck for about three months?

Luckily some people saw the whole incident and once they got past the courier-car clash issue it was pretty obvious who was at fault. But my friend still needed a boston personal injury attorney to make the driver and his insurance company see who was at fault. So no matter where you are located make sure you are not dishing out any door prizes when you park your car downtown.
